Rapid Intervention Teams may be required to force entry through metal gates or window security bars. It is important to have the proper tools and equipment to accomplish this task. It is also imperative that RIT members have the training in the use of this equipment, the proper techniques, and the safety guidelines of this type of operation. This rapid intervention training course was conducted in Guilford, Connecticut hosted by Fire Chief Charlie Herrschaft. As you can see, eye protection is extremely important around this operation earning this photograph "Cool PIC of the month".
