Ever seen one of these? Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire Engine Company 35 operated this 70's era Brockway pumper until recently receiving a 1985 Pierce. The apparatus was refurbished in the early 90's which added the "Telephone booth" type jump seat areas on either side to carry the firefighters. The apparatus originally was a rear step only vehicle. The phone booth jump seat boxes have an emergency escape door in the event of a side impact or rollover accident. Pittsburgh currently operates 3 of these vehicles as reserve apparatus. Truly a "classic" rig earning a spot as our "cool" picture of the month.
