Instructor Ed Farley of Rapid Intervention Training Associates keeps a close eye on students as they work a wire entanglement station. The RIT class was held at the historic Conneaut Lake Amusement Park located in North Western Pennsylvania in October 2002. The class was hosted by the Conneaut Lake Park Volunteer Fire Department led by Fire Chief Dave Chason and was attended by several local Fire Departments. Entanglement props are a great way to train your firefighters in the dangers and difficulties that wires pose to the Rapid Intervention Team. RIT members must be proficient in their ability to free a firefighter from a wire entrapment. Each member of the team must carry a set of wire cutters to enable them to deal with this specific situation.
